Seasons of Doubt

“God has said, "Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you." – Hebrews 13:5 (NIV)

When you are in a season of doubt, you may feel very alone. You may feel as though God is far away, as if He can’t hear you, as if He has left you to your own devices, left you to find your own way out of a spiritual maze. Nothing could be further from the truth. God is always with you, always present, always working in your life. Keep seeking, keep knocking, keep asking, and you will find Him. When you do, you will realize that He was there all the time.

Now on Twitter

I've finally bitten the bullet and started to "micro-blog" on Twitter.  Actually, it's kind of fun. I'm trying to be sure that my Tweets are a mix of encouraging words, thought-provoking ideas, and updates about church and life. Please follow me @JeffWildrick, and Respond and Re-Tweet often!

Making Connections

Yesterday, in Newark Airport, I was the only person in line at the food court and was enjoying joking around with the workers behind the counter at the Mexican restaurant.  "You're very cheerful," one lady said. "Where are you going today that makes you so happy?"  I told her that I was going to a pastor's meeting in Florida, whereupon she shared that her mother is a pastor and asked where my church is. When I said "Dunellen," she laughed and told me she lives in Plainfield.  I asked if she goes to church and she said "No, I just moved here from California." I joked some more about how nice it was to find a friendly person working at the airport, and went to eat my lunch.

After finishing my Taco Salad, I realized that I'd left one thing undone, so I headed back to the counter with one of our "Relationship Principles" invitations and said "If you're free some Sunday, I'd sure love to have you come and be our guest."  She was all smiles, and as I walked away I saw her showing the card to all of the other workers at her counter - reading it together.

Do you have your invite card with you today?  How about slipping one or two in your pocket or purse.  You never know what opportunity God will provide.

In the meantime, please pray for those who are seeing our invitation to church on Facebook.  So far 168 people have "clicked through" from the ad to our special "Relationship Principles" page on the church website.  http://dunellenpres.org/#/welcome/relationship-principles

Please pray that God will work to bring some of those folks to worship on Sunday, and that while they are with us they will begin or deepen a relationship with Jesus - the most important relationship of all.
